Kirsten Knox:

That's one of the greatest tools we have that is underutilized, that we can help students navigate anxiety, depression, loneliness. Not that we can fix that for them, but we can help them navigate it by giving them permission to feel the way they feel.

Mike Toluba:

I remember him back when I was in youth ministry, one of the things that, uh, really made an impression on me was our, our youth minister really had this philosophy of not just building us, um, up as disciples during our teenage years, but really setting a foundation for lifelong discipleship.

Savannah Rogers:

I think the biggest challenge right away, um, was the fact that there were really no young adults or young people. And so finding volunteers because a lot of older adults didn't think they could volunteer or that they were able to or, um, were even confident in themselves to volunteer. And so I think that was the most challenging thing to begin with.

Annette Johnson:

Kids are mostly gonna come up to their own parents and say, can I, you know, can I X, Y, Z? Can I go do the, you know, the comb station or can I, whatever. But as time moves and as relationships are formed, you'll see your kids asking other adults because they, they're not a stranger to them. They are a familiar person who they know, cares about them, who they know is part of their life. Um, you know, so they might be going up, you know, Hey, Mr. Brian, can I help you with the comb? Um, and, and so you, you really create family within your church.

Brian Lawson:

Well, do you want to know more about what they said? We hope you do. We are very excited about this podcast and we hope that you will subscribe to the Making Sense of Ministry podcast as we seek to help you make sense of this thing, we call ministry.
